The St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church will be organizing the 19th annual ArmeniaFest this year on the weekend of October 10-12 on the church grounds at 1805 Random Road, Carrollton.  This is a cultural and food festival with an entertaining program of folk dances and songs, circle dance instruction, children’s games, art exhibits, delicious offerings of food, raffle, silent auction and other activities to celebrate our rich heritage and provide a healthy environment for a great family outing.  Thousands of people attend our festival each year to enjoy the festivities.

A big part of ArmeniaFest is the entertainment program of the Groung Dance Ensemble and the Hayasdan Song and Dance Ensemble. The members of both groups are from the St. Sarkis community and through dance and song performances you will get to see the pride and enthusiasm with which the performers represent the Armenian people and share their culture with all.

The repertoire of the Hayasdan Ensemble includes both Armenian folk songs and Armenian composers’ classical songs. The Groung Dance Ensemble will present a set of dances that uphold the traditions of the Armenian ancestry while presenting a fresh perspective to the new generation.

ArmeniaFest also offers Circle Dance Instruction for all who would like to learn the basic steps of traditional and folk Armenian dances.

"If you are a recent visitor of our web site, you will probably wonder what is this all about …

Well, it is a site dedicated to the annual Armenian cultural and food festival that takes place in Carrollton, Texas. Each year, on the second weekend of October, we organize and put together a program of folk dances, children's tales, special exhibits, church tours, delicious offerings of food, and other activities to celebrate our heritage and provide an environment for a great family outing.

This is an incredible opportunity for children to get a hands-on experience about a different culture while having fun! You will find plenty of outdoor games and activities available for our young visitors and older ones too!! Spend a leisurely day with your family viewing beautiful handcrafts or idling through the exhibits that capture the fascinating history of Armenians. Take time to learn about the unique Armenian alphabet that was invented in 404 A.D. and used in the earliest translations of the Bible.

We love to talk about our food ... and you would too, once you get a taste of our hand-made delicacies!! From grilled kebabs to mouth-watering baklava!

So, come and enjoy our hospitality. Bring family and friends. Stay for a delicious meal and have a great time while you are at it. Join the crowds that have been coming to our festival year after year!" - From http://www.armeniafest.com/
