Texas Folklife announces the opening of the exhibit La Música. La Música features paintings by Roel Flores, an artist from Weslaco, Texas. La Música centers on the musical symbols and icons of Tejano music. There are portraits of Tejano legends Flaco Jimenez and Valerio Longoria along with landscapes of the Rio Grande Valley sprinkled with accordions. Flores love of music began when he was only 6 years old and has stayed with him throughout his life. This event is free and open to the public with RSVP. Artwork featured in the exhibit will be on sale at the exhibit opening.
