“Stories from Deep in the Heart” is an award-winning in depth folklore and audio documentary training for Austin and Central Texas high public school students and teachers. Participants create short, broadcast quality audio documentaries on the stories, folklore, arts and traditions of their families and communities.
The Big Squeeze is a documentary film that follows the newest generation of young accordion players as they compete for Texas Folklife’s annual Big Squeeze Accordion Contest held as part of the Accordion Kings and Queens Festival in Houston, Texas.
After the success of the nightclub he founded in 1975, Clifford Antone opened the doors to Antone's Record Shop in the summer of 1987. Located across the street from his legendary nightclub, the record shop quickly became the place to hang out before seeing whatever show was to take place later that evening. Still in its original location, just north of the UT campus, Antone's Record Shop continues to host one of the largest selections of used vinyl in central Texas.
