Texas Folklife Magnet Design Contest

Calling artists of all Mediums! Texas Folklife is holding a contest to design a limited edition Texas Folklife magnet! As decided by a public vote, the winning magnet design will be available exclusively to Texas Folklife members! The winner will receive a prize package to include a $50 amazon gift card, copies of the magnet, a Texas Folklife Membership, Texas Folklife Merch, and an artist spotlight across TXF Social Media Platforms.


Submission Deadline Extended to November 6th, 2020, by 11:59 PM Central Time.


How to Enter:

To enter the contest, participants must follow the rules and guidelines below. Submit your questions and final design via email to Maya Williams-Britton, Texas Folklife Marketing & Membership Coordinator, at memberships@texasfolklife.org by November 6th. Please include "Magnet Design Contest Submission" in the subject line of your email. In your email, please include your name, contact information, and links to any website or social media platforms where your artwork is displayed.


Requirements

  • The design must be your original work

  • The design must fit within 2x3 inch magnet dimensions

  • The design must include the Texas Folklife Logo or have “Texas Folklife” legibly integrated into the design

  • The subject of the design must somehow relate to the folk and traditional arts of Texas

  • Art files in .jpg, .pdf, .ai, .psd formats are all accepted. Submission must be a high-resolution format (minimum 800x600 pixels)

 

Terms and Conditions

Participation in the Texas Folklife Magnet Design Contest constitutes the entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to accept all following Terms and Conditions. Any Finalists and winning design decisions are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Terms and Conditions. 


Texas Folklife reserves the right to alter or cancel the contest at any time or for any reason at our sole discretion without notice. By entering the competition, you agree that the submitted work must be the entrant’s original work. You must not include, be based on, or derived from any pre-existing or third-party designs, trademarks, or copyrighted images. All entries will become the property of the Texas Folklife. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees that Texas Folklife owns any intellectual property rights in the magnet design once submitted. Texas Folklife can disqualify entrants at any time at their sole discretion.


Finalists will be selected by the Texas Folklife staff to be voted on by the general public through a Google Form. Texas Folklife will notify the winner via email before announcing the results to the general public. Except where the law is prohibited, an entry submission into this contest constitutes permission to use the winner’s name, prize information, and information provided on the entry form for publicity purposes, without further permission or compensation.
