Texas Folklife Welcomes New Executive Director to Lead Cultural Preservation and Outreach Efforts
Austin, TX – August 31, 2023 Texas Folklife, a prominent nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and promoting the diverse cultural heritage of the Lone Star State, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Elisha Oliver as its new Executive Director.
With a proven track record of leadership in cultural preservation and a deep passion for folk traditions, Dr. Oliver brings a wealth of experience to Texas Folklife. As the organization enters an exciting new phase, Dr. Oliver will provide strategic direction, innovative vision, and dynamic leadership to advance the organization's mission.

Dr. Oliver comes to Texas Folklife with 20 years of experience in nonprofit management and ten years in arts and culture leadership. Dr. Oliver has demonstrated a solid commitment to providing platforms to celebrate all communities throughout her career.

Under Dr. Oliver's leadership, Texas Folklife will continue offering diverse programs, events, and initiatives highlighting the unique cultural expressions in Texas.
