Description: How are people in Texas witnessing and adjusting to climate change and its challenges? The 806 is part of a series “The Folklorist Next Door” from Texas Folklife that looks to examine the stories of people in Texas adapting to and resisting a rapidly changing climate. Join mónica teresa ortiz as the series focuses on the experiences & cultural shifts of those impacted by a change(ed) climate & disaster in the places they call home.
About the Community Folklife Fellowship
The Texas Folklife Community Folklife Fellowship program is a statewide, NEA-supported pilot program that provides training in oral history, interviewing, audio storytelling, archives, and podcast production for adults. Participants learn to document community traditions in their own cities and towns throughout the state, through workshops and community partnerships. The program seeks applicants from diverse regions and communities of the state of Texas.
