Description: 

"Remembering Recetas" is a beginner’s workshop on community/family archiving and oral histories specific to recipes and food stories. The workshop will be led by Gianna Elvia Rendon, a family archivist and storyteller. There will also be a cooking demonstration and family story time given by Priscilla Pesina. Pesina has roots in Texas and San Antonio’s Westside and a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Texas State University.

About the Community Folklife Fellowship

The Texas Folklife Community Folklife Fellowship program is a statewide, NEA-supported pilot program that provides training in oral history, interviewing, audio storytelling, archives, and podcast production for adults. Participants learn to document community traditions in their own cities and towns throughout the state, through workshops and community partnerships. The program seeks applicants from diverse regions and communities of the state of Texas.
