Come celebrate Oktoberfest the Elisabet Ney way with five incredible Polka bands to include a crazy mix of Tejano, Czech, German, Polish, Gypsy, and Norteno sounds! Program emceed by local favorite, Spike Gillespie with a costume contest, German eats, dance floor, and activities for all ages.

FAMILY FRIENDS ACTIVITIES:
-Costume Contest: Dress in your best Polka attire to win prizes from local businesses Quack's 43rd Street Bakery, JuiceLand, and The Parlor
-Passport Guide: Grab your passport guide at the info table and stop by participating booths, play games, and collect all your stamps! Follow the guide and you will receive a limited edition ‘I Voted for the Ney’ poster after filling up your passport
-The Quick Draw Photo Booth: 19th Amendment themed games with prizes
-Bibliographia: On-site screenprinting of the classic Polkapocalypse design. Be sure to bring your own shirt!
-Friends of Elisabet Ney Museum: Learn more about the Ney and make your own one-of-a-kind Elisabet Ney button
-National Trust for Historic Preservation: Did you know the Ney has a chance to win $150,000 in National Trust for Historic Preservation grant dollars? Vote for the Ney online everyday at www.voteyourmainstreet.org/Austin and then vote onsite at Polkapocalypse at the National Trust booth for us to win an additional $50,000!
Yes: Admission is FREE!
Yes: There will be a dance floor.
Yes: Bring the family and a picnic and chairs if you wish.
*If we need to change the venue (which seems very unlikely) we will announce by Friday afternoon. There is a rain site so the show will go on!
Yes: There will be food and beverages. There are also many options within a couple of blocks of the museum if you don't find what you need here! Coolers are totally allowed, beer alas is not.
Yes: Parking is available at the Hyde Park Christian Church about 1/8 of a mile east of us on 45th street. There's also the Fresh Plus parking lot at 43rd & Ave G. Please be kind to our residential neighbors. Better yet, BIKE OR BUS! There are SEVEN Capitol Metro bus lines that stop within a 1/4 mile of here!
