Texas Folklife will be participating in Amplify Austin Day! Amplify Austin is an annual 24-hour campaign in which the residents of Central Texas give back to the communities. This campaign is a fun way to support Texas Folklife. This year we are raising $5000 to support our many programs that support Texas traditions and customs.

Join Texas Folklife at the Texas Folklife Gallery as we celebrate the opening of Exhibit: The Art of Vintage Cars. Tim Higgins will be in attendance to speak about his experiences and creating the exhibit. Refreshments and great company will be provided. Tim Higgins always had a fascination with cars of the fifties and sixties and those of the decades before. Photographing vintage cars rekindled his fascination with the spirit of a past era and their beauty. The photos in this exhibit were taken over a period of seven years at the Lone Star Round Up and The Austin Speed Shop.
Today Texas Folklife celebrates #GivingTuesday, the global day of generosity! We want to thank you for your support and hope you will consider making a gift toward our campaign. Your contribution will make an impact; every little bit helps sustain our programs and preserve folk and traditional arts across the state!
