The Big Squeeze 2022

The Big Squeeze is back for its 16th Action-Packed Year!

Assembling super youth accordion players of all Texas genres! Applications will be accepted from 12:00 AM on March 1st, 2022 to 11:59 PM CST on March 31st, 2022. Entry Form and Rules are linked below. Email bigsqueeze@texasfolklife.org with any questions.

EXTENDED DEADLINE FOR VIDEOS: To allow extra time for sending video files, we have extended to Mon. April 4 by 5:00 PM CST. Please submit your application form by 3/31 still so we know to expect your videos soon after.

The Big Squeeze is presented by Texas Folklife as part of its mission to preserve and present Texas’ diverse cultural heritage. Since 2007, Texas Folklife has promoted Texas accordion music genres through the Big Squeeze program. More than 300 young, talented players from dozens of Texas communities have participated in the program, which supports these vital community-based accordion music traditions.

The Big Squeeze es presentado por Texas Folklife como parte de su misión de preservar y presentar el diverso patrimonio cultural de Texas.
