Atlas Maior Day Anniversary House Concert: Featuring Charles Prewitt & Guests

You are invited to an Atlas Maior Day House Concert: Hosted by The Prague Cello Corp on Sunday March 22nd at the home of Lyova Rosanoff. We are celebrating the 1 year anniversary of Atlas Maior Day & the 30th and final year of The Prague Cello Corp. 

Wine and light snacks provided. VIP tickets include reserved front row seating and CD. Please join us for what is sure to be a lovely afternoon of Western classical, Mediterranean, Turkish, Jazz and Latin music in an intimate and vibrant setting.

Atlas Maior:
Atlas Maior is a music group based in Austin, Texas that maps diverse musical traditions, placing Jazz, Arab Turkish, and Latin American musical idioms in dialogue with one another. Atlas Maior composes music that pays homage to the stewards of these traditions and their cultural and geographic origins. Their unique sound balances moments of sincerity with powerful cinematic melodies and incendiary rhythmic passages.

Charles Prewitt:
Charles Prewitt, Director of the Prague Cello Corp.,was broadcast on Maine Public Radio at St. Luke's Cathedral's "J.S. Bach's 300th Birthday Celebration." Following that performance where Joel Martin, past President of the Portland Symphony Board of Trustees heard him he formed a consortium to purchase and restore the "Prague" cello (circa 1850) in 1985. Celebrating the Prague Cello Corporation's 30th and final year, he is performing solo Bach Suites from Texas to New England promoting his new CD: "J.S. Bach to the Future," Six Suites for Solo Cello,Vol. I.
