Texas for the Arts Foundation and Texas Folklife Present: Make Music Day Winter 2021

Join us at the Texas State Capitol for Make Music Day Winter 2021! Make Music Day is an annual celebration when people around the world use music to spread joy in their communities.

Texans for the Arts and Texas Folklife present the traditional Colombian sounds of Wache. Wache is a new local group where the members explore the musical richness of the Caribbean coast of Colombia, far beyond cumbia and vallenato. They explore a regional variety of rhythms -- porro, puya, gaita, merengue, chalupa, bullerengue, tambora.
