Austin Salon Series | Colombian Bullerengue with Bulla en Austin

Date: January 27, 2026

Location: Batch @ 3220 Manor Rd, Austin, TX 78723

Time: 7-9 PM

Join us for the first Salon Series of the new year, featuring a special performance by Bulla en Austin, celebrating bullerengue, a traditional music and dance style from Colombia.

Before the performance, enjoy a short presentation by Victor-Andres Cruz, who has studied and performed bullerengue and other Colombian traditions for more than 20 years. His learning has been rooted in community practice, gained directly from tradition bearers and their communities in Colombia and within the Colombian diaspora in the United States.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase through Batch. Funding provided by Austin ACME with support from Texans for the Arts.
Texas Folklife’s Salon Series at Batch is a recurring, intimate community event series in Austin hosted at Batch Craft Beer and Kolaches. It centers folk and traditional arts through live performances and conversation, bringing audiences together to learn directly from culture bearers and tradition-based artists.
The Salon Series was conceptualized and developed by Jeannelle Ramírez, PhD.
