Zeth Seven Lara is a twenty-five year old from the birthplace of conjunto music, San Benito, Texas. He started his accordion journey at the age of two and by four, was receiving lessons from his grandfather, Rigoberto Garza. Zeth was also taught by conjunto Hall of Famer, Jose Moreno, for eleven years. On the saxophone, Zeth was taught by one of the best woodwind players in the United States, John Simmons. With his teachings, Zeth would eventually become a TMEA All-Stater in 2018—one of only three saxophone All-Staters in San Benito history. Zeth still resides in San Benito, where he serves as an educator at the Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Currently, he is working to spread conjunto, create manuscripts and instructional guides for various instruments, revitalize the violin and mandolin in conjunto, and support his community and anyone else he can.
