Calling All Artisans: Apply Now for Texas Folklife’s 2025 Cultural Festivals

​Texas Folklife is thrilled to announce a series of upcoming cultural events across the State. These events will offer artisans unique opportunities to showcase their crafts and celebrate the state’s rich heritage. From Lancaster’s vibrant festivals to Austin’s inaugural Threads of Tradition Festival, these events promise to be a haven for creativity, tradition, and community spirit.​

Threads of Tradition Festival – Austin, TX

Mark your calendars for May 17–18, 2025, as Texas Folklife, in collaboration with the Bullock Texas State History Museum, presents the inaugural Threads of Tradition Festival. This event invites artisans to engage audiences with live demonstrations, performances, and interactive cultural activities that highlight the diverse traditions of Texas. It’s an excellent platform for artisans to connect with the community and share the stories behind their crafts.​

Festival Details:

  • Dates: May 17–18, 2025​

  • Location: Bullock Texas State History Museum, Austin, TX​

  • Activities: Live performances, artisan demonstrations, interactive cultural activities​

Artisans interested in participating in the Threads of Tradition Festival are encouraged to apply promptly to secure their spot in this celebration of Texas heritage

Lancaster Town Center Cultural Events – Lancaster, TX

In addition to the Austin festival, Texas Folklife and the City of Lancaster are hosting a series of cultural events at the Lancaster Town Center. These festivals provide artisans with the opportunity to showcase and sell their work in an open-air market setting, fostering community engagement and cultural appreciation.​

  • June Celebration

    • Date: June 19, 2025​

    • Application Deadline: May 12, 2025​

  • Octoberfest

    • Date: October 4, 2025​

    • Application Deadline: August 5, 2025​

  • Winter Market

    • Date: December 14, 2025​

    • Application Deadline: November 7, 2025​
