Texas Folklife invites the public to Land, Memory, and Tradition in East Texas, a free, one-and-a-half-day public humanities workshop taking place February 20 to 21, 2026 in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Rooted in place-based learning and community dialogue, this gathering brings together scholars, folklorists, artists, educators, clergy, and neighbors to explore how memory, cultural identity, and lived experience are shaped by the East Texas landscape.
