Tales from Near and Far: An Evening of Storytelling | Tuesday, September 15, 2026 | 7-9 PM
The evening kicks off with a lecture presentation by ethnomusicologist Hanna Salmon. The presentation will discuss the histories, repertoires, and performance practices of various folktale storytelling traditions.
Over the course of the evening, we will hear musical storytelling performances by Hanna Salmon, Abdullah Alqaroot, and Dimitris Gkoulimaris, featuring folk tales from Scotland, Appalachia, and Palestine, about various topics from hunting dogs to za’atar.
