Come be part of history. The inaugural Texas Folklife Convening brings culture bearers, folk artists, and traditional arts practitioners together for two days of connection, celebration, and bold conversation about the future of our living traditions.

Together, we’ll dig into the big questions. How do we keep Texas’s folk and traditional arts thriving? What challenges are artists facing right now? And how can we join forces to preserve, present, and pass on these practices across every community we call home?

We kick off Friday with a welcome night at Batch, full of good company, great energy, and a warm introduction to the weekend ahead. Then Saturday begins with a full day of panels, roundtable discussions, and hands-on workshops. Expect deep dives into Mexican folk art, flamenco, diasporic music and dance, storytelling, and so much more.

Free and open to the public, but an RSVP is required, so claim your spot.
